Helen Colleen Kendrick Smith, 88, of Shelby, passed away Thursday, March 31,
2016 at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby.

Born June 28, 1927 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late
Robert Lee Kendrick and Mary Lou Pearson Stapleton. She was retired from
PPG and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband,
Clending Ezell Smith and daughter, Vicky Gettys.

Survivors include her son, Steve Smith and wife, Helen of Shelby;
son-in-law, Steve Gettys of Shelby; two sisters, Delores Church and Joyce
Fitch both of Shelby; five grandchildren, Christy Slone, Ashley Gettys,
Steve Smith, Chris Smith and Teresa Harp; sixteen great-grandchildren and
twelve great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Sunday at Bethel Baptist Church

A funeral service will be 3:00 PM, Sunday at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr.
Tim Sims officiating.

Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery
