Helen Marie Hardin Potter, age 83, passed away Monday, October 17, 2016 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. She was born March 20, 1933 in Ashe County to the late Daniel Blaine and Ruth Taylor Hardin. Helen was a devoted homemaker and member at Hull's Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Potter and sisters, Mary Jo Neill and Lucille Mauney.
She is survived by sons, James Potter (Pat) of Bolivia, NC, Daniel Potter of Cherryville and Wayne Brown (Lynn) of Shelby; grandchildren, Travis Potter(Christy) of Asheville, Grant Potter of Bolivia, NC, Lori Drewery(Chad) of Cherryville, Casey Lockler(Joseph) of Charlotte and Brady Goforth(Anita) of Kings Mountain; great-grandchildren, Kayla Potter, Caleb Potter, Gavin Drewery, Gabe Drewery, Ava Lockler, Payton Goforth and Marleigh Goforth; sisters, Donna King (Charles) of West Jefferson, Ruth Ann Belcher of Bristol, TN and Martha McGee(David) of Ferguson, NC; and brothers, Earl Hardin( Pat) of West Jefferson, Neal Hardin (Jan) of Morganton and Jay Hardin of West Jefferson.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Hull's Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Farmer officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. Family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 12:30-1:45 PM.
