Helen Sue Heavner

Helen Sue Heavner, 69, of W. Hwy 27, Vale, passed away Friday, April 1,
2016 at Carolinas HealthCare System - Cleveland in Shelby.

She was born in Lincoln County on June 26, 1946, to the late George Beam
Heavner and Nellie Sue Wise Heavner. She was retired from the NC Teacher
Academy, in the Raleigh-Chapel Hill area, as an instructor and developer of
education programs. Helen was a member of Bethphage Lutheran Church, choir,
Sunday School Teacher and the Women Evangelical Lutheran Church.

In additon to her parents she is preceded in death by her two brothers,
James Robert "Jim" Heavner and Kenneth Bayne Heavner.

She is survived by her brother, Carl Dean Heavner and wife Bobbie of Vale;
four nephews, Michael Dean Heavner, Wendell Todd Heavner, James Robert
Heavner, and George Thomas Heavner; four great nephews, Zane Heavner, Josh
Heavner, Robert Heavner, and Mike Heavner; and two great nieces, Carolanne
Heavner and Emily Heavner.

The family will receive friends from 10:15 AM to 11:00 AM in the Bethphage
Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. Condolences may be made online at

The memorial service will on Monday at 11:00 AM Bethphage Lutheran Church
with the Rev. Frederick Mitschke officiating.

A private burial will be held in the church cemetery.
