Mr. Herman Lee Bridges, age 56 of Shelby, NC, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014 at his residence.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Beaver Dam Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Paul Sorrells, Rev. Phil Hughes, Rev. Robert Canoy and Joe McCurry.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 am prior to the service at the Church.  Burial will follow at Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery.

   Mr. Bridges was survived by his parents, Herman Eugene Bridges and wife Marjorie Lee (Lancaster) Bridges of Boiling Springs, NC, a stepdaughter, Cassandra Mayhew and fiancée Shane Cline of Grover, NC, a stepson, Michael Marlow of Shelby, NC, two sisters, June Bridges Evans of Boiling Springs, NC, and Robin Bridges Byrum of Henrico, VA, two nephews, Clay Evans of Babylon, NY, and Patrick Byrum of Henrico, VA and a niece, Melissa Byrum Watson and husband Josh of Glen Allen, VA.  Lee was engaged to Linda Bowen of Shelby, NC and was expected to be married in April.

   Born April 7, 1958 in Cleveland County, Mr. Bridges was the son of Herman and Marjorie (Lancaster) Bridges and was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Hall Bridges.  Lee graduated from Crest High School in 1976.  After graduation, he worked for PPG as a Glass Winder and worked for more than 20 years.  Lee was a member of the Beaver Dam Baptist Church where he served as an usher and was a faithful member of the prison ministries of Beaver Dam.  He especially loved his time in Sorrells Sunday School Class. He enjoyed fishing, collecting miniature antique cars, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Men on Missions of Beaver Dam Baptist Church, 123 Beaver Dam Church Road, Shelby, NC 28152.
