Hessie was a lifelong member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church.  She worked in textiles at various locations.  She enjoyed her retirement and being a grandmother to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed being with her family.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters Esther Bridges, Nancy Tesseneer, sister-in-law Doris Bridges, Lillian Bridges, Essie Harris, Elsie Harris; brothers, Mont Bridges, Troy Bridges, Clement Bridges, and Clarence Bridges; brothers-on-law, Howard Tesseneer, Arlan Hawkins, C. B. Harris, and Furman Harris.  She is survived by her sons, Kenny Harris and wife Rita, Alan Harris and wife Ginny, all of Shelby; sisters-in-law Annie Mae Bridges and Lona Mae Hawkins; grandchildren, Andrea Williams and husband Matt, Laura McCraw and husband Jerry, Boyd Harris, Megan Harris, Keely DeBoever and husband Sky; great-grandchildren, Luke, Gavin, Ava, and Olivia Williams, Kaitlyn, Morgan and Mallory McCraw; special niece, Linda McCraw and many other nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and nurses of Hospice Cleveland County and Carillon Assisted Living for their loving care.

The family will be at the home of Kenny Harris, 1311 Burke Road in Shelby, NC.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Boiling Springs Baptist Church.  The Rev. Todd Bolin will be officiating.  Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00am prior to the service in the Life Enrichment Center.
