High Rates Of Flu Prompt Visitation Restrictions
Effective December 21, 2012, Cleveland Regional Medical Center and Kings Mountain Hospital are restricting visitation for children less than 12 years of age.  Currently, there is a high occurrence of flu and other communicable diseases throughout the community. Restricting visitation will help protect vulnerable patients and visitors. It also helps prevent the spread of these illnesses.
Other hospitals in the area have adopted similar visitation restrictions.
“We are asking for the community’s help in reducing the spread of these illnesses by not bringing children less than 12 years of age to the hospitals,” said Dotty Leatherwood, vice president of community relations. “In addition, we strongly encourage anyone who is experiencing signs and symptoms of illness to consider not visiting the hospitals at this time.”
“We thank the community for their understanding and cooperation,” she continued, “as we work together to protect patients and others from the spread of the flu.”
