Hilma Janette Kale Pruett, age 73, of Kent Street went home to be with the Lord March 6, 2015 at Robin Johnson Hospice House. She was born September 25, 1941, in Davidson County, a daughter of the late Rev. Edgar Franklin and Bessie Dickey Kale. Hilma was formerly employed as the custodian of Cherryville High School and was a member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed working puzzles, playing bingo, and various crafts. Hilma's greatest love was for her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Frank Kale, John Kale, June Carswell, Kathryn Dellinger, and Kay Hough.

Survivors include two sons, Scott Pruett and wife, Tammy of Cherryville and Jeff Pruett and wife, Jennifer of Gastonia; daughter, Pam Lipford and husband, Todd of Charlotte; grandchildren, Devin, Ashley, and Hannah Lipford, Tyler Pruett and Emma Pruett; and brother, Paul Kale of Morganton.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at 4:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Leonard Bumgardner officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 3:45 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
