Horace Caleb Howington, age 88, died Sunday December 28, 2014 at Washington County Hospital in Plymouth, North Carolina. Born in Cleveland County on September 17, 1926, he was the son of the late Jessie Patrick and Zed W. Howington, Sr.  Horace served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and was a retired administrator for the Albuquerque (New Mexico) Department of Corrections. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters and eight brothers. 

Horace is survived by his wife of 66 years, Julia Price Howington; a son, Tad Howington of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Hoyt Howington of Ft. Mill, South Carolina, and Dwight Howington of Gastonia, North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 2, 2014 at 11:00am at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Watson officiating.
