Marina Thomas age 4 and Miley Thomas age 2 at their grandmother’s house getting their cake ready. They are the children of Rev. Lee and Amy Thomas of Kings Mountain. The Hospice Cake & Casserole Sale is scheduled for Saturday, November 20, 2010 from 8:00am – 11:00am at the Kings Mountain Hospice House located at 321 Kings Mountain Boulevard, Kings Mountain, NC. Tours of the new Hospice House will also be available by request. Raffle tickets for a “Dinner for 4” by Kasie’s Kitchen will be available for purchase at the Cake & Casserole Sale for $1 each or 6 tickets for $5. The drawing will be held Saturday, November 20th at Noon.
Hospice needs lots of great cooks to participate in the Cake & Casserole Sale in order for it to be a success! Best sellers are meat casseroles, vegetable casseroles, specialty cakes like Coconut, Italian Crème, Red Velvet, Carrot Cake, etc... We have had requests for small casseroles (to serve 2-3). Casseroles should be made in disposable aluminum foil pans. They may be wrapped in heavy-duty foil or placed in zip-lock freezer bags. They must be frozen. Meatless (vegetarian) and sugar free items are also needed. Please tape a label on the outside of your items so the person purchasing it will know baking instructions. Labels can be downloaded at www.hospicecares.cc. The ingredient information is very important to us in pricing your items!
Bring your items to either the Hospice Administration Building located at 951 Wendover Height Drive in Shelby between the hours of 10am – 6pm or to the Kings Mountain Hospice House between the hours of 10am – 7pm on Friday, November 19th.
Thanks to the Cake & Casserole Sale and other fundraisers, Hospice Cleveland County is able to provide compassionate care and support to hundreds of patients and family members during their final days together.
