Howard Roger Logan

    Mr. Howard Roger Logan, 68, of 411 Circle Drive West Shelby, NC went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby, NC.  He was a native of Shelby and the son of the late William and Ida Mae Hargro Logan.

 

     Howard was a graduate of York Road High School in Charlotte, NC.  After graduating, he served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.  He was employed by Carolina Freight, where he worked for many years as a long haul truck driver.  Howard loved to make people laugh and always extended kindness and generosity to both friends and strangers.  He was a stubborn man but had a soft heart for the people who knew him.

 

     In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his brother, Warren Logan.

 

   He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his children, Mrs. Vickie Beam-Boykins (Randy) of Shelby, Dr. Monica Logan of Houston, TX, Ms. Katrina Logan Houge of Kings Mountain, NC, Mr. Cornelius Logan (Pate) of Shelby, and Mr. Jonathan Logan of Shelby; two brothers, Mr. Charles R. Logan (Isabeller) of Shelby and Mr. John C. Logan (Roseanna) of Charlotte, NC; one sister Mrs. Ruby L. Hardin (Edward) of Shelby, NC; four grandchildren, Zachary Logan, Kyeshaina Logan, Nicholas Hunt, and Parker Logan; and special friends, Donna Nanje and Carlos Walls of the home and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

     Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Mount Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor M. Lamont Littlejohn officiating and Rev. Thomas Coleman delivering the eulogy.  Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:00 PM on Friday and at other times at 1310 Concord St. in Shelby.  Condolences can be expressed online at www.enloes.net.  Enloe Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
