Hubert Henry Gault, 87, of 301 Dixon Drive, passed away on Wednesday, December 29th, 2021, at his home.

Born in Blacksburg, he was the husband of 54 years to Maxine Easterby Gault and the son of the late Bee and Faye Wylie Gault. Mr. Gault retired from Monsanto and was a veteran of the United States Army. Hubert was an active member of First Baptist Church of Blacksburg, where he was a former deacon and choir member. He was also a proud University of South Carolina Alumni, where he received his degree in geology.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Gault is survived by a daughter, Julie G. Strack and husband, James, and two grandchildren, Sarah Louise and Jacob Strack.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Johnny Gault, a brother, Joe Dean Gault, and a sister, Doris Triplett.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 1st, 2022 at 3:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Blacksburg with Rev. Vincent Tharpe and Rev. Danny Meetze officiating. A private interment will be held Sunday at Mountain View Cemetery. Jacob Strack, Steven Gault, Kevin Gault, Wayne Cobb, Tom Easler, George Martin, Bobby Martin, and David Hogue. Ted Bechtler, Larry Earls, and Dickie Moorhead will serve as an honorary pallbearers.
