| Hubert Zeb Hudgins, age 85, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Friday, May 23, 2014 at Hospice of Rutherford County.
Born October 29, 1928 in Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Zeb Hudgins and Lula Gibbs Hudgins. He retired from the table line at Broyhill Furniture and attended Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ruby Ilee Hudgins; two sisters, Lucy Hodge, Cleo Hudgins; brother, Ernest Hudgins; two grandchildren, Angela Ray Hudgins, Michael Shane Ownbey; one great-great granddaughter, Breanna Elizabeth Hudgins.
Survivors include his six daughters, Pam Cogdell of Rutherfordton, Susie Craig of Rutherfordton, Polly Edwards and husband Brian of Rutherfordton, Connie Harris and husband John of Rutherfordton, Bonnie Ledford and husband Rodney of Ellenboro, Patty Kelly and husband Glenn of Union Mills; three sons, Calvin Hudgins and wife Rita of Rutherfordton, Jack Hudgins and wife Debbie of Rutherfordton, Ray Hudgins and wife Geneva of Rutherfordton; two brothers, Wesley Hudgins and wife Lena Mae of Rutherfordton, Roger Hudgins and wife Pat of Rutherfordton; sister, Betty Wilson and husband Morris of Forest City; 24 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church with Reverend Roger Hudgins and Rev. Leon Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Little White Country Church with Reverend Billy Cogdell and Reverend Wesley Hudgins officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church.
