Ila Godfrey Price, 96, of US 221 South Highway, died on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Brookdale Assisted Living Center (formerly Carolina House). A native of Cherokee County, South Carolina, she was born on July 16, 1918, a daughter of the late Dovie Goins Godfrey and Nora Atkinson Godfrey. She was a member of Hicks Grove Baptist Church and loved to quilt.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Belt Price; one son, John Henry Price; nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Frances Jolley and husband John of Mooresboro; her grandchildren, Sharon Nanney and husband Norman, Janet Searcy and husband Philip, Teresa Jones, Donald Price and wife Katie; 8 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Hicks Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald McIntire and Rev. Raymond Byrd officiating. Burial will follow at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
