Mrs. Inez Alice Clark Nanney, 84, of 1505 Caleb Road, Shelby, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2010. Services were held at Putnam Baptist Church. Burial followed in Patterson Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Nanney was preceded in death by her parents, E.D. and Lula Phillips Clark; 5 brothers, Cecil Clark, Hubert Clark, Rufus Clark, George Clark and Hugh Lee Clark; and 3 sisters, Desma Short, Thelma Anthony and Marie Wease.

She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Alfred I. Nanney of the home;  2 sons, Dr. Ron Nanney and wife Marjorie, and Terrace “Scott” Weaver, all of Shelby; 1 daughter, Rita Holcombe of Shelby; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister-in-law, Joyce White and husband Bob of Shelby.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Putnam Baptist Church, 1146 County Home Road, Shelby, NC 28150; or Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Dr., Shelby, NC 28150.
