Inez Baker "Bennie" Bridges, age 89, formerly of Sunset Rd. passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Carolina Care Center. She was born on June 26, 1927 in Lincoln County to the late Charlie and Marietta Austin Baker. Bennie was formerly employed with Doran Mill. She also worked at Triple H restaurant where she found great pleasure in making coconut cream pies. She was a member of First Wesleyan Church and enjoyed traveling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Bridges; and sisters, Flossie Coffee, Irene Ramsey, Evelyn Sellers, Jennie Tate, Pauline Craighead, and Geraldine Dellinger.
Survivors include her son, Eugene Richard "Rick" Bridges and wife, Della of Brevard and Cherryville and a granddaughter, Megan Michele Bridges.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 12:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Mark Poe officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11:00 to 11:45 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
