Inez Pearl Classen Koontz, age 71, died Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Carolinas Healthcare System-Cleveland. She was born December 8, 1944 the daughter of the late Edwin and Lennie "Gladys" Walker Classen. Inez was a supportive military spouse married to Gary Koontz and they enjoyed over 50 wonderful years together. She was a devoted wife and mother, and an adored grandmother. Inez was heavily involved in many quilting, sewing and embroidery groups and guilds.

Inez was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters; Alice Pilkinton and Jean Wyner and one brother; Horrice Classen.

She is survived by her husband, Gary and their daughters; Debbie Forehand and her husband JP and Yvonne Koontz; three sisters; Ruth Young, Helen Freouf, and Dorothy Wiebe; two brothers; Gilbert Classen and three grandchildren; Sean Forehand, Emily Harihan and her husband Cameron; and Jennifer Forehand.

A Time of Remembrance will be held Friday, September 30, 2016 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends during this time.
