Mrs. Irene Catherine Gilbert, 76 of Shelby, NC, formerly of Kell, IL, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2010. A private memorial service, celebrating her life will be held at a later date in Shelby, NC.
Mrs. Gilbert was preceded in death by her husband Allen Ray Gilbert of Montreal, Quebec and her parents, Walter and Margaret (Thompson) Veniez of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
She is survived by two sons, Stuart C. Gilbert and wife Joy, of Shelby, NC and Eric PC Gilbert and wife Juana of Salem, IL; seven grandchildren; four great-grandsons; two brothers, David Veniez of Montreal, Quebec and Ronny Veniez of Calgary, Alberta and one sister, Gladys Mercier of Montreal, Quebec.
