Irene Wright age 98, died Monday, January 26, 2015 at White Oak Manor in Shelby. Born in Cleveland County on November 23, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Clingman and Coyrea Lovelace Wright. Irene was an active member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for over 35 years. She was very active with the Pleasanteers, the senior adult group. Irene retired from J. P. Stevens after a number of years of service. Irene enjoyed shopping, gardening, traveling and playing Bingo. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Irene is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Dr. Eric Davis officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
