Iva Jean Woody Henderson, age 80 of Dallas Cherryville Hwy., died Saturday, March 12, 2016 at her residence. She was born in Cocke County, TN on February 27, 1936, a daughter of the late Jim and Donie Gown Woody.

She, along with her late husband, Clifford Henderson, were retired, self-employed long haul truck drivers. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking and she made the best biscuits and gravy and creamed corn for her family.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Henderson; and son, Randy Henderson.

Survivors include her son, Marve Henderson and wife, Sandra of Taylorsville; daughter-in-law, Kay Henderson of Cherryville; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brother, Furman Woody and wife, Mary Ester of Del Rio, TN; and sisters, Dean Ball and Mary Epperson both of Newport, TN.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Leonard Bumgarner officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30-1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
