Iva Lee Canipe Goins, 84, of 833 Shoals Road, Lincolnton, passed away Friday, June 6, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton.
She born on September 1, 1929 in Lincoln County, to the late W.C. Canipe and Julia Lucille Christopher Canipe. She was a member of North Brook Baptist Church and retired from Bike Athletics.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband John Calvin Goins; two brothers, Sam Canipe and Lester Canipe; and sister, Mildred Scronce.
She is survived by her four sons, Allen " Gordy" Goins and wife Libby of Newton, Johnny Goins and wife Kelly of Lincolnton, Gerald Goins and fiancee Penny Williams of Vale, and Dr. Keith Goins of Lincolnton; five daughters, Rita Katz and husband Marc of Vale, Jane Wright and husband Terry of Vale, LeAnn Gilbert and husband Jerry of Lincolnton, Beth Hallman and husband Gary of Vale and Lisa Goins, Retired US Navy, of Vale; two brothers, Harold
Canipe of Crouse and Jerry Canipe of Lincolnton; two sisters, Wilma Sain of Vale and Clara Cloninger of Lincolnton; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston. Condolences may be made online at www.stameyfuneralhome.com.
The funeral services will held on Sunday, at 4:30 PM at North Brook Baptist Church, Cherryville, with the Rev. Robert Wise and Dr. Wade Dellinger officiating. The burial will follow in church cemetery.
