J.B. Davis, 85, of 7275 West Hwy. 27 in Vale, passed away Saturday September
24, 2011 at home.
Born in Cleveland County on December 29, 1925, he was the son of the late
Roland Davis and Flossie Cooke Davis. He was a member of Hull's Grove
Baptist Church and a US Army Veteran after serving in WWII.
Survivors include his wife of sixty four years, Christine Leatherman Davis,
two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn & Clark Mauney and Katrina & Johnny
Burch all of Cherryville, four grandchildren, Courtney & David Jones, of
Sanford, Charlie Burch of Cherryville Kelly & Christian Leonard of
Cherryville, and Camille & George Sain II of Vale, five great grandchildren,
McOvie & Jesse Leonard of Cherryville, Lily & Drew Jones of Sanford, and
Isaac Sain of Vale, and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dot & Marshall
Bowen of Waco and Ruth & Charles Anthony of Cherryville.
Visitation, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Tuesday, Hull's Grove Baptist Church, Vale.
