J. C. Winters age 92, died Wednesday September 9, 2015 at Cleveland Pines. Born in Dalton Ga. he was the son of the late Albert and Dolly Winters. J. C. retired from Daniel's Construction after a number of years. He served in the Army during WWII and was a lifetime member of the DAV. J. C. enjoyed gardening and reading westerns. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Jewel Winters, a brother; two sisters, a son, Clayton Winters; a daughter, Judy Winters Ball; and a grandson, Wesley Drewery.

He is survived by two daughters, Faye Drewery and husband Roger of Shelby, and Brenda Wheat of Shelby; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Winters of Dalton, Ga; nine grandchildren, Sharon Greene and husband Allen, Dana Roderick and husband Steve, Clay Winters and wife Ashley, Candace Wilson and husband Jonathan, Carla Wheat, Jayson Bell, Julia Wheat; and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday September 12, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Tony Rayfield officiating. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park with Military Honors The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00pm and other times at the home of Faye and Roger Drewery.
