Jack Briscoe Goforth, 56, of Hill Top Drive, Cliffside, died on Monday, April 14, 2014 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Rutherford County, he was born on Friday, December 27, 1957, a son of the late Mal Briscoe and Rosa Lee Barnes Goforth. He worked for Cone Mills Corporation - Cliffside Plant and was a member of Cliffside Baptist Church. Jack also loved to go to flea markets.
He is survived by his brothers, Roy Lee Goforth and wife Maxine of Cliffside and Jimmy Goforth and wife Linda of Forest City; two nieces, Kim Goforth and Teresa Cranfill and husband Terry; one nephew, Jamie Goforth and wife Cindy; 2 great nephews and 1 great niece who he thought a lot of.
A Celebration of Jack’s Life will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Cliffside Baptist Church with the Rev. Joey Cantrell and Rev. Scott Butler officiating. Burial will follow in Cliffside Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary.
