| Mr. James C. “Jim” Stewart, 93 of Shelby passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2012. Services were held at Second Baptist Church, Shelby. Burial with military honors was held in Cleveland Memorial Park.
Mr. Stewart served our country in the US Army during WWII European Theatre.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years who preceeded him in death 6 weeks ago, Emma Corene Blanton Stewart; his parents, Charles Simpson Stewart and Martha Ann Pitman; his brothers, Richard, Sidney, Roy, Jesse, Elton, Lewis & Howard Stewart and his sister, Ruth Parham.
He is survived by his foster daughter, Nieta McDaniel of Shelby; one foster grandson; brother, Leslie Stewart of Jacksonville, TN and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church, 1114 S. Lafayette St., Shelby, NC 28150.
