James Clay Wright, Jr. "Jim"
James Clay Wright, Jr. "Jim" passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018. He was born in Rowan County to Clay Wright and Lucille Staton Wright Blythe. He graduated from Landis High School, Lenoir Rhyne University, and received a Master's Degree from James Madison University. Jim was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church since 1972. He enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels. His teaching career began at Belmont High School. Through the years, he taught in Richmond, Virginia and began his 34 year career at Gaston College in 1972. He started Quinn Data Processing, a programming consultant business in 1980.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Jamey Wright.
Survivors include his wife, Anita; son, Jim and wife, Annissa and their children, Mary Catherine, Clay Russell, and Grace Ann; son, Tripp and wife, Gretchen and their children, Grayson and Carson; stepsister, Mary Frances Blythe McAbee and husband, Jimmy; and aunt, Helen Randolph.
Funeral services will held Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 2:00 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Ben Kifer officiating. Burial will be private in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
