Cherryville – Mr. James David Carroll, 89, of 556 W. Old Post Rd. passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Hospice at Wendover.

Mr. Carroll was born in Gaston County, NC on February 13, 1924 a son of the late Jessie Lohr Carroll and Ellen Bryte Sellers Carroll.  James was a dairy farmer and co-owner of Carroll Dairy in Cherryville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and John Carroll and three sisters, Louise and Helen Carroll and Gertrude Freeman.

Survivors include two brothers, Charles Carroll of Overland Park, KS and Harry Carroll of Cherryville.  Also surviving is a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Sunday, February 24, 2013 from 1:45 until 2:45PM at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home and at other times the family will be at the home of Bryan Carroll, 1103 Mary’s Grove Rd. Cherryville.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 3:00PM with Dr. Bill Lowe officiating.

Burial will be at Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery.
