James Donald (Don) Wright, 71, of 303 Hickory Hollow Road, passed away Monday, July 15th, 2013, at his residence.
Born in Cherokee Falls, Mr. Wright was the son of the late Lloyd Wilbur and Ollie Mae Manning Wright and had retired as an industrial mechanic.
Mr. Wright is survived by three daughters, Phyllis Wright Martin and husband, Eddie, of Diamond, MO, Linda Wright Boese of Waldorf, MD, and Tammy Wright McGonigal and husband, Bill, of Blacksburg; three brothers, Jerry Wright and wife, Barbara, of Blacksburg, Leonard Wright and wife, Mary, of Kings Mountain, and Larry Wright and wife, Annette, of Blacksburg; a sister, Brenda Wright Hope and husband, Jim, of Waco, NC; five grandchildren, Steven Kyle Martin and wife, Bethany, of Parsons, KS, Brittany Rena Harvey and fiance, Josh Ramey, of Blacksburg, Leah Marie Martin of Diamond, MO, DJ McGonigal and wife, Heather, of Blacksburg, and Jessalyn Nicole Boese of Waldorf, MD; and one great-grandson, Gary Evan Martin, of Parsons, KS.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 16th, 2013, from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 17th, at 1:00pm in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Barry Philbeck officiating. Interment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens. Eddie Martin, Bill McGonigal, Kyle Martin, DJ McGonigal, Josh Ramey, and Derek Patterson will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Wright, Leonard Wright, Larry Wright, and Jim Hope.
The family will be at the residence.
