James Earl McAbee
 Gaffney -- James Earl McAbee, 76, of 618 Peeler Creek Road, passed away Thursday, May 31st, 2012, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born in Gaffney, Mr. McAbee was the son of the late James and Bessie Howard McAbee. Mr. McAbee retired as truck driver and was a member of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. He also served his country in the United States Army National Guard.

Mr. McAbee is survived by two sons, Dean and Steve McAbee, both of Gaffney; two daughters, Lynn McAbee of Gaffney and Lori Jordan of Spartanburg; two brothers, Ralph McAbee of Gaffney and Robert McAbee of Charlotte; a sister, Gladys Byars, of Gaffney; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 1st, 2012, from 7:00pm - 8:00pm at Gordon Mortuary. Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 2nd, at 2:00pm at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Greg Little and Rev. Henry Guyton officiating. Timmy McAbee, Matt Patterson, Andy Patterson, Scott McAbee, Greg McAbee, Anthony Watson, and Anthony Roberts will serve as pallbearers.

The family will be at Dean McAbee's residence, 610 Peeler Creek Road, Gaffney.
