James Edward "Jim" Fitch Jr., 74, of 236 Blackwell Road, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 15th, 2021, at Cherokee Medical Center.

Born in Kings Mountain, he was the widower of Nancy Fitch and the son of the late James Edward Fitch Sr. and Juanita Fitch. Mr. Fitch retired as a teacher and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church of Earl.

Mr. Fitch is survived by his son, Jonathan Fitch of Blacksburg; one daughter, Amy Fitch Leyton and husband, David, of Wales, UK; and three sisters, Aletha, Judy, and Carolyn.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Libby.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 20th, 2021, from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, South Carolina 29702. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 21st, 2021 at 2:00 pm at New Hope Baptist Church of Earl, 2621 Blacksburg Road, Earl, NC with Rev. Russ Bradley officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
