Mr. James Furman Pennell, age 73, passed away on October 11, 2013 at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
He was predeceased by his wife, Pam Metford Pennell; one infant son, James William Pennell; one sister, Sally Pennell and two brothers, Vernon and Johnny Pennell.
He is survived by three sisters, Marie Abernathy and Ann Cold Smith both of Stanley, NC and Irene Campbell of Conroe, TX; one brother, Jerry Pennell of Davy, WV and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. James Pennell served in the United States Army and liked to fish.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm Friday, October 18, 2013 at 1316 Gum Street, Gastonia, NC.
