            | James Hal Peeler, Jr. 71, of Cherryville, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby.
 
 Born December 23, 1942 in Gaston County, he was a son of the late James Hal
 Peeler, Sr. and Mamie Barlow Peeler.  James was retired from Carolina
 Freight Carriers and was a member of Second Baptist Church.  He was an avid
 outdoors man and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
 James served in the National Guard for 6 years.
 
 Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Dorothy Pruett Peeler; son Jason
 Peeler and wife, Kim of Cherryville; daughter, Angie Bridges and husband,
 Mark of Lincolnton; 4 grandchildren, Noah Bridges, Jenna Peeler, Megan
 Bridges and Hunter Peeler ; sisters, Mildred Young and and Bertha Maxey both
 of Cherryville and a brother, David Peeler.
 
 Visitation: 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM, Saturday, Second Baptist Church,
 Cherryville
 
 Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Saturday, at Second Baptist Church, Cherryville
 
 Officiating: Rev. Jerry Lail and Rev. Bob Wise
 
 Burial: will follow in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery
