| James “J.W.” “Jake” Peterson, age 85, a resident of 109 Phifer Road, Kings Mountain, NC, went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Kings Mountain Hospice House. Born in Cherokee Falls, SC, son of the late Jesse Ervin and Mamie White Peterson, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Pruitt Peterson of 36 years, and also sisters Pauline Turner and Thelma Kimble. A member of Pathways Baptist Church, and avid softball player, he loved fishing, hunting and he loved the Lord and his passion was his grandchildren and great grandchildren. After 56 years he retired from Minette Mills, Grover, NC.
