James "Jimmy" Painter
James "Jimmy" Painter, 65, 210 Old Factory Road, Blacksburg, SC, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, November 11, 2015. He passed away at Regional Hospice House in Spartanburg, SC. He was the husband of Judy Spearman Painter and the son of the late Claude W., Sr. and Virginia Weaver Painter. He was a loving husband and father and never met a stranger. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the VFW. He was a member of Voice Of Triumph Church. He was retired from Union Pacific.
In addition to Judy, his loving wife of 47 years, he is survived by two sons - Jamie Painter and wife, Kim, and Jimmy "Leebo" Painter and wife, Kelly, one granddaughter - Brittany Eubanks, all of Blacksburg, SC, and one brother - William "Bill" Culbertson of Cornelius, NC. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers - Claude William Painter, Jr. and Joseph Culbertson.
The family will receive friends Saturday, November 14, 2015, from 2-3:00 PM, at Voice Of Triumph Church, 179 Corry Road, Blacksburg, SC. A Celebration Of Life Service will begin at 3:00 PM, with Revs. Ernest Rogers, Ann Rogers and Ronnie Blackwell officiating. Entombment with Military Honors will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens. At other times, they will be at the home.
Pallbearers serving are Jeff Mullinax, Gary Shull, Steve Taylor, Steve Culbertson, Ed Martin and Bill Davidson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Voice Of Triumph Food Bank.
