| James P. Martin, 80, 714 Cherokee Falls Road, Blacksburg, SC, died November 22, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, Spartanburg, SC. A native of Cherokee County, SC, he was married to the late Flora Bolton Martin and was a son of the late James Edward and Victoria Peterson Martin. Mr. Martin loved to farm and garden.
He is survived by one daughter - Lynn M. Poole and husband, Bill, of Gaffney, SC; one son - Doyle Lane Martin and wife, Linda, of Blacksburg, SC; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters - Isabell Redmon of Gaffney, SC; Vera Jean Martin of Blacksburg, SC, and Selma Hambright of Blacksburg, SC; and one brother - Dewey Martin of Blacksburg, SC. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, James Ray Martin.
You may visit the family at the home of Lynn and Bill Poole, 405 Union Street, Gaffney, SC, at your convenience. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, November 25, 2011, 2:00 PM, graveside, at Clingman Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Joel Gardner officiating.
