James Ray "Jim" Poe, 63 of Shelby, NC went to be with the Lord on June 7, 2021 at his residence.

He was born on August 18, 1957 in Muncie, Ind to the late Gobel Poe and Peggy Priebe of Shelby, NC.

He enjoyed watching TV and spending time with his wife of 17 years, Kathy, and grandchildren. He was an avid Vikings and Duke Blue Devils fan.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Shalp Poe; daughter, Abby Deputy of Fort Wayne IN; son, Adam Poe of Muncie, IN; stepson, Josh Broyles of Gastonia; stepdaughter, Sara McDowell of Bessemer City; his mother, Peggy Priebbe of Shelby; sisters, Cathy VanDyke and Vickie Buchannon both of Shelby; six grandchildren, Cameron "Pudge," Kenzi "Moose," Kensley "Kinkin," Kendall, Zander "Love Bug," and Chace "Stink bug;" numerous nieces and nephews; and his best companion and fur baby, Tucker Poe, AKA Tuck Tuck.

A Memorial Service will be held at Carpenter-Porter Funeral and Cremation Services Friday at 2:00 PM with Rev. Chris Begley officiating. Burial will be Monday at Evergreen "A Quiet Place" at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends Friday at the funeral home from 12:30 to 1:45 PM.
