Mr. James Reid (Sonny) Huggins, 73, of Shelby, NC passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011. Services were held at Boiling Springs Baptist Church. Burial followed in Cleveland Memorial Park.
Mr. King served our country in the U.S. Army National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Dwyre and Agnes Bridges Huggins; 1 sister, Virginia (Gin) Huggins Gault; his father & mother-in-law, Maxwell B. and Ruth Putnam Hamrick; 1 nephew; and 1 great-nephew.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Teresa Hamrick Huggins; 2 daughters, Julie Daves and husband Bill, and Catherine Hastings and husband Donny; 1 son, Paul Huggins and wife Terri; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers-in-law, Bill Gault, Buddy Hamrick and wife Jennifer, and Fred Hamrick and wife Nancy; 4 nephews; and 1 great-nephew.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Boiling Springs Baptist Church, P.O. Box 917, Boiling Springs, NC 28017; the Hamrick-Huggins Endowed Scholarship at Gardner Webb University, P.O. Box 997, Boiling Springs, NC 28017; the Cleveland County Education Foundation Scholarship Fund, 130 S.
