Mr. James Rex Bridges, 77, of 125 Ball Park Road passed away Thursday, April
12, 2012 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born April 30, 1934, he was a son of the late James Wright Bridges and Lona
Ellen Spurling Bridges. Mr. Bridges was a member of Lawndale Baptist
Church, Upper Cleveland Rescue Board of Directors and a lifetime member of
Lawndale Masonic Lodge. He was a charter member of Upper Cleveland Rescue
and retired from the maintenance department at PPG Industries. Mr. Bridges
used his skill in plumbing to assist those in his community and thru this
ministry he made many special friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bridges was preceded in death by son, Danny
Bridges and brother, Bill Bridges.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Martha Carter Bridges; sons and
daughter-in-law, James Bridges Jr, Richard and Marcia Bridges and Dennis
Bridges; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Larry Morrison all of Lawndale;
brother, Bob Bridges of Lawndale; sister, Peggy Ross of Kings Mountain;
seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Friday
at Stamey Funeral Home in Fallston. A guest register is available at

Funeral: The funeral will be 7:00 pm Friday at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel
with Revs. Jim Kilby and Kat Spangler officiating.
Graveside: The committal will be held Saturday 11:00 am at Cleveland
Memorial Park in Boiling Springs.
