SHELBY- James "Wallace" Hester, 86, died Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at his home. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late James Harry and Lena Fraser Hester. Wallace served in the Army, was a member of Westview Baptist Church, and retired from JP Stevens with 41 years of service. He had a love for the outdoors, especially working in his garden.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Hoyt Hester, and sister, Chris Walker.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jo McCurry Hester, of the home; daughter, Barbara Digilio and husband Joe of York, SC, sisters, Martha Blanton and husband Andy, and Sara Bridges; brother, Charles Hester, all of Shelby; grandchildren, Holly Jo Cleary and husband Bryan, Lacey Jo Tindall and husband Lane, and Mandy Cantrell; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Morgan Rizzo; and great-granddog, Gin.

SERVICES: Funeral services will be held Friday, 3pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Friday, 1:30-3pm, at the funeral home.

BURIAL: Sunset Cemetery
