Janet Carol Lee Coy, age 72 of Daring Drive, formerly of Florida and Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at White Oak Manor in Shelby. She was born October 25, 1945 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Owen and Lois Collins Lee. She was a retired certified nursing assistant. Janet enjoyed traveling, sight-seeing, and going on Sunday drives. She had a love for animals, especially horses.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Coy; grandson, Dusty Vassey; and great grandson, Samuel Thomas Bryant.
Survivors include her children, Rick Bryant and wife, Mandy of Irwinville, GA, Ronda Fredrick of Pittsburg, PA, and Brenda Belcher and husband, John of Cherryville; five grandchildren, Dylan Bryant, Chelsea Fredrick, Morgan Belcher, Alyssa Belcher, and Dena Vassey and husband, Dean Dibling; great grandchildren, Myda Vassey Ali, Kamran Vassey Ali, and Natalie Jae Davis; sister, Patricia Burgett of Gainsville, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Leonard Bumgardner officiating. Burial will follow at Capernaum Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 to 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
