Janet McKee Deaton passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby.

Born in Cleveland County, NC to the late George William McKee and Laura Oaksey Green McKee. She served faithfully at Polkville Baptist Church where she was a charter member. Janet retired after thirty five years of service at Cleveland Memorial Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Henry Deaton; brother, Howard McKee and three great grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda D. Bridges (Jim); two sons, Steve Deaton (Teresa) and Randy Deaton; grandchildren Laura Hester, Jennifer Deaton, Marina Bridges, Barry Bridges, Jennifer Webster and Jason West; four great grandchildren. Also surviving are special niece, Dr. Colette Deviney and special nephews, James and Gene McKee.

A family graveside service will be held at Polkville Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Will Davis officiating.
