Janice Godfrey Crook, age 73, of Lemon Grove, California, died Monday, July 23, 2012 at her residence.

     Janice was born March 25, 1939 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Claude D. Godfrey and Aby Collins Godfrey.  She was a homemaker and worked for Mastercraft Industries for many years.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Crook; one son, Billy Claude Dale and two brothers, D.G. Godfrey and Gaston “Buster” Godfrey.

     Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Dale Kubicki of Lemon Grove, CA and Debra Dale Russell and husband, Michael of San Diego; two sisters, Shirley Guest and husband, Carol of Forest City and Sudie Godfrey Joy of Florence, SC; one brother, Joe F. Godfrey and wife, Faye of Gilkey, NC; step-daughter, Shelley Owens and husband, Robert of Rutherfordton and sister-in-law, Hazel Godfrey of Forest City.  She is also survived by five grandchildren; Keenan Kubicki, Cory Kubicki, Michael Russell, Michaelle Russell, Dustin Owens and eight great grandchildren.  

      Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Riverside Baptist Church with Reverend Ted Blankenship officiating and Shelley Owens providing the Eulogy.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.  Inurnment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
