Jaquitha Rountree Reid, age 75, passed away on December 21, 2017, surrounded by her family at Testa Hospice House. Born in Winston Salem on November 25, 1942 she was the daughter of late Glenn and Jeanette Harry Rountree. Jaquitha was a member of the Shelby High School Class of 1961. She graduated from St. Andrews Presbyterian College and Winthrop University. She retired from Kings Mountain District Schools and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kings Mountain.

Jaquitha is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jim Reid; a daughter, Jennifer Reid Hollifield and husband Aubrey of Shelby; a son, Jon Reid and wife Melinda of Rock Hill SC; seven grandchildren, Dax Hollifield, Isabella Hollifield, Jack Hollifield, Ellie Hollifield, JoJo Hollifield, Will Reid, and Ana Grace Reid; two brothers, Bill Rountree and wife Jane of Mt. Airy and Joe Rountree and wife Patsy of Grover; and a sister, Holly Godfrey and husband Paul of Grover.

The family invites friends and family to her home at 107 Prospector Drive, Kings Mountain, NC 28086 on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm to celebrate her life and share her memories.
