Mr. Jara A. McDowell, 50 of Shelby, NC passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2024 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby. Born in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Leonard Whisnant and the late Louise Dawkins McDowell.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church. Burial take place at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:00 PM on Thursday and additional times at 821 Greene Street, Shelby.
