Jareen "Jake" Hartman

Jareen "Jake" Hartman, 93, a native of Cleveland County went to be with the Lord September 25, 2016.

He was born in Cleveland County, on November 14, 1922, to the late Quincey Hartman and Elizabeth Johnson Hartman. He was retired self-employed machine shop operator and was a member of Knob Creek United Methodist Church. He was a WWII Veteran and served in the 737 tank battalion.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Grace Brown Hartman; as well as five brothers, Theodore, Swain, Irod, Durham and Byron and six sisters, Vera Glenn, Ruth Anthony, Velma Scism, Myrtle Warlick, Eloise Dayberry and Getty Davis.

He is survived by his son, Jerry Austin Hartman and daughter-in-law, Pat; grandchildren, April Hartman- Chambers and husband, Steve and Patrick Hartman and wife, Dara; great grandchildren, Ashley, Grace and Abigail Chambers and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Also survived by special friends Marie Parker and daughter, Dolores.

He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. This gentle kind man loved life, loved his family and his music.

The memorial service will be held 3:00 PM, Thursday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Juston Smith officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
