Gaffney -- Jay Cooper, 84, formerly of 2039 Union Highway, passed away Tuesday, December 29th, 2015, at Brookview Health Care Center.

Born in Cherokee County, he was the son of the late JV Cooper and Violet Millwood Cooper. Mr. Cooper retired as a self-employed plumber and was a member of Midway Baptist Church, Gaffney, SC.

Mr. Cooper is survived by one son, Rev. Troy Cooper, and wife, Betty, of Gaffney; one brother, Donnie Cooper of Gaffney; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.,

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Cooper, brothers Charles and Harold Cooper, and one sister, Grace Reynolds.

Funeral service arrangements are incomplete and will be announced at a later date.

The family will be at the residence of Rev. Troy Cooper at 2039 Union Highway.
