Jean Kiser Hannah
 Jean Kiser Hannah, 92, wife of Hunt Hannah of S. Washington Street in Shelby, passed away April 3, 2011 at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte.  Mrs. Hannah graduated from Greensboro High School in 1935, attended Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, NC and Woman’s College in Greensboro.  She retired from Security National Bank in Greensboro before moving to Burke County in 1962.  She later moved to Shelby where her husband worked for Cleveland County.  In 1974, they moved to Fallston where Mrs. Hannah had a kindergarten for a number of years.  She was a member of First Christian Church in Greensboro and a member of Chapter U of the P.E.O. Sisterhood in Shelby.

Mrs. Hannah was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Mamie Kiser, and brother, Richard M. Kiser.  She is survived by her husband of 73 years, James Hunt Hannah, Jr., two daughters, Martha Hannah Turner of Charlotte and Mamie Hannah Leemon of Jonas Ridge, NC; a son, James Hunt Hannah III of Florida; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

The Hannah family would like to thank all of the many friends who helped car for Jean over the years, especially Mary Anne Davis, Dr. Hobson and the staff at the Wound Care Center.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home.  Chaplain Len Byers will be officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00pm prior to the service.
