Jeff Blackstone, 37, of 144 Sherrill Drive, passed away Sunday, November 10th, 2013 at Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care.
Born in Shelby, he was the son of Kenneth O'dell Blackstone and Linda Bridges Blackstone. Mr. Blackstone was a graduate of Blacksburg High School and ITT Technical Institute. He worked as a carpenter and was a member of Broad River Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Blackstone is survived by three brothers, Joey Blackstone and wife, Lisa, of Piedmont, SC, Bryan Daves of Forest City, NC, and Chris "Farley" Blackstone of the home; a sister, Angela Blackstone Culbertson, of Taylors, SC; special nephews, Jordan Culbertson of Blacksburg, Joshua Blackstone of Blacksburg, and Cory and Hunter Daves of Forest City; a special niece, Taylor Culbertson, of Blacksburg; and a great nephew, Sawyer Culbertson, of Blacksburg.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 12th, 2013, from 6:00 pm -7:30 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will he held Wednesday, November 13th, 2013, at 2:00 pm in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Norman Philbeck, Mr. Joey Blackstone, and Mr. Chris Blackstone officiating. Interment will follow at Frederick Memorial Gardens. Joey Blackstone, Chris Blackstone, Bryan Daves, Jordan Culbertson, Joshua Blackstone, Michael Merrell, Chad Tessner, and Brian Jones will serve as pallbearers.
The family will be at the residence.
