Jennie Lou Williamson Sigmon, age 77 of Cherryville passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center Lincolnton. She was born May 19, 1940 in York County, SC to the late Robert Guy Williamson and Wilma Lee Lackey Wilcox. She was a member of North Brook Baptist Church. Jennie was an excellent homemaker and loved to care for her family. She enjoyed watching cooking shows and was a wonderful cook and baker. She also enjoyed crocheting and sewing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Kemp "K.B." Sigmon; and brothers, Larry Williamson and Odell Wilcox, Jr.
Survivors include her stepfather, Odell Wilcox, Sr.; children, Malia Sigmon and Kevin Sigmon and wife, Pam all of Cherryville; grandchildren, Zoey Sigmon, Emily Sigmon Schieres and husband, Evan; siblings, Pat Nash of Monroe, Guy Williamson of Cherryville, Rita Edwards and husband, Scott of Gastonia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 3:30 PM at North Brook Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Wise and Rev. Jerry Lail officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 to 3:15 PM prior to the service at the church.
