Jeraldean Wease

Jeraldean Wease, 88, passed away peacefully at her home in Lawndale on Tuesday, January 28, 2014. It had been her lifelong wish for her earthly life to end here since this was also the place of her birth.

Mrs. Wease, commonly known as "Aunt Dean" by her many family members had been married to her childhood sweetheart, the late John Wease, for fifty years. Early in her life she worked at Whisnants Grocery in Lawndale and later was employed by Stameys Store in Fallston. As a lifelong member of Lawndale Baptist Church, she accepted the call to play both the piano and organ for all church services and served in this capacity for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Wease, two brothers, Hugh Wallace and Raplh Wallace, and three sisters, Ruby Whisnant, Lois McRorie, and Syble Daggerhart.

Having no children of her own, Aunt Dean became a mother figure to five surviving nephews and seven nieces, all of whom are proud to call her "Aunt Dean." She also has a number of great and great-great nephews and nieces. She was the daughter of the late D.T. and Minnie Southards Wallace.

Visitation will be Friday January 31, 2014 at Stamey Funeral Home from 2:00PM until 3:00PM.

The funeral service will be 3:00PM Friday at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Kilby officiating.
