Jerry F. Robertson

Mr. Jerry F. Robertson, age 81 of Shelby, passed away February 16 at Hospice Wendover.

Born in Spartanburg SC July 23, 1934, he was the son of the late William Britt Robertson and Cassie Seay Robertson. Jerry was an active member at the First Baptist Church of Shelby where they served on the Lord's supper committee and was very active in his Sunday school class. He was also in the Navy reserves. Jerry was a electrical engineer at Fiber industries before opening Robertson Controls. He was an avid football fan of the Carolina Panthers, loved to watch NASCAR, was an avid golfer and loved to travel. Jerry also loved spending time with friends and family. He was a lifetime member of the AMVETS and was a member of the Hejaz and Oasis Shriners and later he became a member of the Piedmont Pistons where he drove go carts in various events.

He is preceded in death by his sister Iris Brennen, brother Dub Robertson and son Danny Robertson.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 37 years Deanne Robertson, son Bill and wife Cathy, daughter in law Kathy Robertson, step children Sonny Davis and wife Debbie, Morris Davis and wife Lisa. Grandchildren Amy Robertson, Kelly Rick and husband Chad, Ashley Davis, Shawn Davis, Jed Davis and Mitchell Davis and many great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Friday February 19, 2016 at 2pm in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Tony Tench officiating. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2pm, an hour before the service and other times at the home of Deanne Robertson 130 Victoria Park Drive, Shelby NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to; Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby NC 28 or Shriner Hospital for Children 950 W. Faris Rd. Greenville, SC
